MESA, Ariz. — A’s baseball executive Billy Beane, who in 2015 was exposed in a Bay Area News Group investigation as one of the East Bay’s most notorious water wasters during California’s long drought, couldn’t resist poking fun at himself during a discussion of future A’s ballpark locations on Friday.
Beane and new A’s team president Dave Kaval were holding a joint session with the media to talk about a variety of subjects, both baseball- and business-related. After Kaval gave a detailed update of the ongoing ballpark site search, Beane offered his own input.
“I can say I heard this morning it’s not going to be in Danville,” he said.
