Brandon Moss did not mince words when asked about the new MLB rule about intentional walks.
“That’s the worst,” the former A’s and current Royals slugger told USA Today. “What is this, high school baseball?”
Moss would much rather an intentional walk include four pitches, rather than the new stipulation for a signal instead.
“What if it’s Game 7 of the World Series, tie game in the bottom of the ninth? Someone hits a one-out triple, and Miguel Cabrera comes up to the plate,” Moss said. “That pitcher should have to throw four pitches to Miguel Cabrera, whether they’re intentional balls or not.
