Like the 245 homers he hit, Nick Swisher is outtahere.
Swisher, who started his 12-year MLB career with the A’s, announced his retirement Friday in a post for The Players’ Tribune titled “The Dream Is Over, Baby.”
“I guarantee you’re gonna have a hard time ever finding somebody who had as much fun playing the game as I did,” the outfielder and first baseman wrote. “And now I’m gonna bring that same energy to everything else I do … now that I’m officially retiring from Major League Baseball.”
Swisher was selected in the 2002 draft that made A’s GM Billy Beane famous after the release of the book and movie “Moneyball.
