Beck missed the entire showcase circuit in the summer and fall after tearing the ACL and meniscus in his left knee last May, but immediately showed first-round talent upon his return this spring.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Beck has 25-25 potential if he's able to tap into his power. While Beck boasts well-above-average bat speed, some scouts believe he will need to streamline his swing if he wants to be able to solve quality pitching.
Beck played center field during his time at North Davidson High School in Lexington, N.C., but there are some doubts as to whether his instincts in the field will be strong enough to keep him there during his pro career.
