Final pitch not enough to spoil outing for A’s Kendall Graveman

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — His last pitch of the afternoon got left up in a hittable location and A’s starter Kendall Graveman paid for it with a two-run home run.

That wasn’t enough for him to get down on himself after an outing that was otherwise solid in the A’s 3-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at Goodyear Ballpark on Monday.

“You leave feeling kind of disappointed about it, you have to sit on it for four days, that last pitch,” Graveman said, “but 69 pitches out of 70 you feel pretty good about.”

Graveman’s day was done after throwing 70 pitches in 3 2/3 innings.
