One of the best batteries in Oakland history was reunited Saturday at the Coliseum, when All-Stars Barry Zito and Ramon Hernandez were honored before the A’s game against the Braves.
“It’s great, it brings back old, great memories in this ballpark,” said Hernandez, who caught the game’s ceremonial first pitch from Zito as fans gave the former A’s players a nice round of applause. “This is the team I signed with, the team I came up to the big leagues with and the team I loved to watch when I was a little kid.
