Elephant Rumblings: The A’s off-day was about as interesting as it could be!

Shoutout to Sonny Gray for being the first guy out of the dugout and into the middle of the fight. He's been here 2 weeks. Atta boy.

Today in Baseball History:

  • 1922 - The Cubs beat the Phillies 26-23. The Cubs had lead 25-6 in the fourth inning.
  • 1986 - Mark McGwire hits his first major league homerun as the A’s win at Tiger Stadium 8-4.
  • No dog in the NL Central/NL Wild Card race, but this seems like a bit of an overstatement.
