Tomorrow is trade deadline day, and if the A’s have any moves to make, they are saving them for the 11th hour. Thus far, there have been rumors and plenty of speculation, but no trades have materialized—and there are reasons to doubt that they will.
With a 47-63 record, the A’s are looking like sellers. Last month, reports surfaced that the A’s brass can’t wait to trade starting pitcher Luis Severino, who has the biggest contract in A’s history but has yet to deliver on the expectations that come with his three-year, $67 million deal.
