Editorial: For the Oakland A’s, the Coliseum grass is greener

It’s time for the Oakland A’s, back to the start in their search for a new ballpark site, to recognize they’re sitting on the best location right now.

Peralta Community College District trustees, meeting in closed session Tuesday, decided to break off negotiations with the team over a 13-acre site where the district’s administrative offices are now.

The decision comes just three months after the A’s announced they wanted to move from the Coliseum and build a 35,000-seat stadium on the Peralta site.

For the district and the neighborhood, trustees made the right decision.
