Drew Pomeranz received a cortisone shot for his AC joint soreness, and the A’s starter, already on the DL, will resume throwing after the weekend. The hope is that the cortisone will calm down the inflammation that has kept Pomeranz from getting deep into games occasionally, even more of a concern recently given the struggles of Oakland’s bullpen.

Kendall Graveman, as expected, will be called up Saturday to make the start at Tampa Bay.
