Davis, Mujica return from disabled list to bolster A's

OAKLAND – All signs point to Ike Davis returning to his role as the A’s primary first baseman against right-handers.

Davis was activated from the disabled list Friday after missing 33 games while sidelined by a strained left quadriceps. Reliever Edward Mujica, recovered from a fractured thumb on his right (throwing) hand, also came off the DL. Utility infielder Andy Parrino was designated for assignment and reliever Arnold Leon was optioned to Triple-A Nashville to clear roster spots.

Davis said his quad is feeling fine physically. He went 5-for-21 with five RBI in five games on a rehab assignment with Nashville.
