Davis homers, but rally falls short vs. Reds

"We just kept coming after them and swung the bats and had some really good at-bats with these guys with runners in scoring position," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "We did some really good things."

The Reds scored six times in the second off A's lefty Sean Manaea, who lasted only three innings in his second-to-last tuneup before his April 4 season debut against the Angels. Manaea allowed five hits and walked just as many, striking out one.

"Just trying to nibble too much," Manaea said. "Third inning, I finally just said, 'just throw it down the middle and let them hit it.
