ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Another of the A’s good young prospects will make his major-league debut this month: Daniel Gossett will come up from Triple-A Nashville to start one of Oakland’s games at Miami on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Gossett had been scheduled to start for Triple-A Nashville on Saturday but he was scratched an hour before the Sounds’ game. The right-hander will be working on at least seven days’ rest and potentially eight if he were to go Wednesday. If Gossett pitches Tuesday, Jharel Cotton could get an extra day of rest.
Gossett, 24, attended Clemson and he was the A’s second-round pick in 2014.
