Sean Murphy, the A's top position player prospect, was called up to the big league team on Sunday. On Wednesday, the catcher made his debut and, subsequently, a great first impression.
Murphy stepped up to the plate in the fifth and smacked a poorly located fastball over the right-center field fence. The home run was his first-ever hit in the big leagues.
