SEATTLE - Khris Davis hadn’t hit a homer in more than two weeks when he whistled one over the fence in center on Monday night, the conclusion of a 12-pitch at-bat against Yovani Gallardo.
The kind of at-bat that could get a fellow going. “Great at-bat, and a great result,” A’s third baseman Trevor Plouffe said Tuesday. “Khris had a great BP, too. He’s seeing it.”
Davis was determined to get the better of Gallardo, fouling off six pitches. “That’s what I said to myself at the moment: ‘Battle,’ ” Davis said.
