MINNEAPOLIS – Josh Phegley was feeling better Thursday morning than he had the last time he’d had a concussion, but it wasn’t enough to keep him off the disabled list.
And it’s not enough to guarantee he’ll be back with then 7-day minimum stay on the concussion DL is up.
Bruce Maxwell joined to team about 90 minutes before Thursday’s noon game in Target Field, giving the A’s two left-handed hitting catchers.
“He’s doing better; it’s not as bad as last time,” manager Bob Melvin said of Phegley. “But nowadays with the protocol and so forth, for a guy who’s had it before, when you have it a second time you want to be careful with it.
