Chapman, Laureano make big plays in A’s win

OAKLAND — Saturday afternoon’s Coliseum crowd got another taste of that Matt Chapman vs. Diego Castillo matchup, the one that brought Thursday’s walk-off masterpiece.

The contact Chapman got off Castillo wouldn’t be as spectacular, but it sure did the trick. In the seventh, Chapman chopped a go-ahead RBI single that barely escaped the infield to help the A’s secure a 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Ramon Laureano took a pitch to the back with the bases loaded on a full count to provide that painful, but necessary insurance run.

The Laureano Effect was in full force on Saturday .
