CLEVELAND - Chad Pinder, fresh off a two-homer, three-hit night for the A’s, moved up three spots in the order Thursday.
“Out of the nine-hole,” manager Bob Melvin said. “He probably deserves to be out of the nine-hole. He probably deserves consideration for any number of spots. Three hits, drove in all the runs - if he doesn’t play, there’s a good chance we don’t win that game.”
With Jed Lowrie getting a start off, Pinder is at second base against the Indians, but he is likely to play much more at shortstop over the next two weeks or more until Marcus Semien returns from the DL.
