Chad Pinder was a little bruised Friday after sliding into the wall near the Yankees’ bullpen while chasing a foul pop-up Thursday night, then getting tangled with Gary Sanchez at second base while playing shortstop later in the game.
“Yeah, I’m beat up,” Pinder said, adding of the slide into the wall, “I kind of rolled my ankle, and there’s some drainage over there and a piece of metal went through my pants and sock and cut up my ankle a little bit. But I’m totally fine.”
Of the collision with Sanchez, Pinder said, “I’m lucky - his cleat spikes caught my glove and pulled it off, so I escaped that one.
