OAKLAND -- Right-hander Trevor Cahill is likely headed for a stint on the disabled list, A's manager Bob Melvin said on Tuesday.
Cahill was scratched from Saturday's scheduled start against the Royals with a right Achilles injury, and he is "not great," according to Melvin. He added that Cahill has not responded in the fashion that the A's had hoped.
"I think recently maybe walking around, he hasn't felt great," Melvin said. "Whether or not it enhanced the state that he's in right now, not sure yet.
