My methodology is sound. I pay virtually no attention to High School and college players, knowing that I will never care much about the vast majority of them. Then about a week before the amateur draft, I learn what I can and pore over stats of a few guys being linked to the A’s.
From this, I form extremely strong opinions about whom the A’s should draft from among players I had never heard of 2 weeks ago and I passionately hold these views even in the face of industry disagreement. Then I relax and offer reasonably objective analysis, still reserving the right to yell, “See, I told you so!
