Bay Area sports community helping in relief efforts on North Bay fires

The Bay Area sports community continues to come together to bring aid to those affected by the North Bay wildfires:

•A’s catcher Bruce Maxwell flew from his home in Arizona on Tuesday and made a couple of stops — the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, which has been used as a shelter, and a Sports City facility in Santa Rosa — to speak with people (mainly children) and thank firefighters, police officers and others for their work. Stomper, the A’s mascot, joined Maxwell.

•Jared Goff, a Novato native and the Rams’ quarterback, has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for fire victims.
