Exciting times for baseball. The game’s caretakers are considering a raft of brand new rules for the grand old game.

* A pitch clock during which the “Jeopardy” theme is played. Or should be.

* A three-batter minimum for relievers unless they are injured or saved by the inning-ending bell. This classic exercise in overthinking is coming to a major league yard near you in 2020 — so poorly considered that it can be deconstructed in 26 little words:
