The Astros punctuated their domination of the A’s this season with a flood of runs early in the series finale Thursday, offset only somewhat by a lately comeback attempt led predominantly by Oakland’s youngsters.
Houston put up 10 runs in the first two innings against Jesse Hahn and went on to a 12-9 victory, sweeping the four games at the Coliseum. The Astros, whose 50-24 record is the best in baseball, have won 10 in a row and 15 of their past 16 at Oakland. The A’s, who swept four games from the Yankees to open the homestand, wound up even for the eight days.
