A’s win on big day for Sonny Gray

Sonny Gray’s 100th start last week was a good one, but the 101st of his career was even better.

Gray struck out 11 batters in seven innings and allowed one run on three hits as the A’s topped the Marlins 4-1 on Wednesday. He now has back-to-back wins for the first time since April 2016.

Gray was perfect through three innings, striking out the side twice. His ran into trouble in the fourth inning when the Marlins got consecutive singles from Dee Gordon and Giancarlo Stanton.

With men at first and third, the Marlins capitalized on a wild-pitch strikeout of Marcel Ozuna, which allowed Gordon to score.
