NEW YORK – Yonder Alonso had he came to Yankee Stadium figuring it would be 50-50 whether or not he’d be in the A’s lineup.
He wasn’t. Alonso, hit on the right wrist by a pitch Tuesday, sat out Wednesday and hoped the off day Thursday would be enough time off.
It wasn’t. And because the Yankees are starting a left-hander, C.C. Sabathia, Saturday, he will probably get that start off, too.
“It feels a good deal better than it did yesterday,” Alonso said of the wrist injury. He’d broken that wrist a few years back, and said he’s pleased that he can see as much progress as he has.
