After snapping their losing streak in last night’s home opener, the Athletics will take the field tonight for game two, looking to get another winning streak going.
Rookie right-hander Mitch Spence is set to take the ball tonight, his second career start. On the whole Spence has a 3.90 ERA in 12 games so far. The Rule 5 draft pick is coming off that first start though and it wasn’t bad. Spence allowed just one run on five hits over 4 2⁄3 innings in a loss to the Kansas City Royals. That was enough to earn him another start, which comes tonight against the Rockies.
