Shortstop Marcus Semien was looking forward to making his fourth straight start on Jackie Robinson Day but spent the morning getting an MRI for his sore right wrist.
He had felt it recently swinging the bat and was able play through it. Friday night, he began feeling it on throws, and the A’s decided to get him checked out.
“Any time Marcus is out of the lineup, it’s a concern,” manager Bob Melvin said. “It’s always tough to tell with him because he’s got a very high threshold of pain and never wants to come out of the lineup.
