MESA, Ariz. - Trevor Plouffe, who left Saturday’s game against Milwaukee with what was described as an abductor muscle issue, said Sunday that he believes the issue to be very minor.
Plouffe said he felt some discomfort in his upper left thigh area while fielding a grounder Saturday and after a rough year with injuries last season, he decided the best course of action was to be cautious. He passed every strength test, said he didn’t even feel the problem at all Sunday morning, and he was scheduled to be off, anyway.
Manager Bob Melvin said that Plouffe won’t play again until Wednesday, when he gets an at-bat or two against the Cubs.
