A’s trade Yonder Alonso to Seattle Mariners for minor-leaguer

ANAHEIM — Yonder Alonzo became the latest veteran to the A’s on Sunday when the All-Star first baseman went to the Seattle Mariners for minor-league outfielder Boog Powell.

Alonzo placed second on the A’s with 22 home runs while driving in 49 and batting .266. The 30-year-old veteran will be a free agent at the end of this season.

Powell, 24, made his major-league debut this season and was batting .194 in 23 games for the Mariners.
