The Oakland A’s traded left-handed pitcher Eric O’Flaherty and cash considerations to the New York Mets for a player to be named later or cash, the club announced Tuesday evening.
O’Flaherty was designated for assignment on Saturday.
O’Flaherty was 1-2 with a 5.91 ERA and .312 opponents batting average in 25 relief appearances with the A’s. His opponents average included a .186 mark against left-handed hitters compared to .420 against right-handers.
O’Flaherty signed a two-year deal with Oakland following Tommy John surgery in 2013 and was 2-2 with a save and a 4.14 ERA in 46 games overall with the A’s.
