A’s manager Bob Melvin said, “We did have Brad Peacock, we didn’t have the Brad Peacock you’re seeing now.”
Peacock, a former Oakland farmhand, will oppose A’s right-hander Jharel Cotton (5-10, 5.92 ERA) in Sunday’s three-game series finale.
The Houston right-hander is 10-1 with a 3:30 ERA and 2-0 against the A’s this season.
“And he’s done it to us too, and he’s doing it to everybody,” Melvin said. “Look at his record and he’s made some significant adjustments. His arm angle is lower now, he’s throwing a different compliment of pitches. He’s really reinvented himself.
