A’s thumped at Seattle, go winless on trip

SEATTLE - The A’s know bad road trips, and Sunday, they wrapped up their worst of the season - a tough assignment given how many poor series they’ve played away from the Coliseum.

For the first time all year, Oakland went 0-fer on a road trip, swept first by the Angels and then the Mariners, who sent soft-tossing lefty Andrew Albers to the mound Sunday at Safeco Field. The 31-year-old journeyman had a no-hitter through five, and Seattle planted a 10-2 loss on the A’s.

Oakland was outscored 41-21 on the 0-6 trip and the team has surpassed the Giants for the worst road record in baseball, going 21-47.
