OAKLAND -- The A's selected Univ. of Oklahoma outfielder Kyler Murray with the ninth overall selection in the 2018 Draft on Monday.
Murray, who also stars as Oklahoma's quarterback, hit .296 with 10 home runs and 47 RBIs in 51 games this season. He is expected to play football in the fall before beginning his professional baseball career.
