ARLINGTON, Texas – If the A’s are going to make a run at being competitive in the American League West, they are going to have to show more offense than they did in Sunday’s 8-1 loss to the Rangers.
It wasn’t just that the A’s were limited to one run on a day when lefty Sean Manaea struck out a career-high 10 batters. It was that Oakland had chances time and again with runners on base to support Manaea when he game was within reach.
The club couldn’t get the job done. At one point Oakland left nine men on base from the third through the sixth innings.
