A’s Stephen Piscotty grateful for support for ALS fund-raising efforts

MESA, Ariz. - Stephen Piscotty met with reporters before the A’s first Cactus League game Friday in order to express his appreciation for all those helping to support the fight against ALS.

Piscotty’s mother, Gretchen, was diagnosed with ALS last year and her friend Beth Sblendorio is running in two marathons to raise funds for ALS research and awareness. Piscotty and the A’s Community Fund have joined in that effort by starting a fundraising page at youcaring.com.

“I felt like I wanted to use my platform to bring some awareness and funding for ALS and my mom was on board with it,” Piscotty said.
