HOUSTON - A’s starter Sonny Gray, who is from Nashville, was still sporting a Triple-A Nashville Sounds cap on Friday when he arrived in Houston. He enjoyed making a rehab appearance with his hometown team, and much of his family was able to attend, he said.
Better still, Gray said, were the results. He is feeling strong again after being out with a lat strain for six weeks, and among other things during his six scoreless innings Thursday, he had only two three-ball counts.
Gray is expected to come off the DL sometime next week at Minnesota.
