TORONTO — If this was in fact Sonny Gray’s final appearance in Oakland green and gold, history will show his A’s swan song was virtually perfect
At least that’s what his pitching line will show.
Only in this case, numbers can be deceiving no matter which side of the border you are on.
With trade speculation continuing to balloon around the right-hander, Gray took the Rogers Centre mound for perhaps the final time as a member of the A’s on Tuesday night.
And don’t be surprised if that was on his mind two hours later as he disappeared from the dugout into the visitors clubhouse, having just allowed zero earned runs in his six inning stint en route to chalking up yet another quality start.
