ANAHEIM - Sonny Gray’s rehab outing at Triple-A Nashville was projected to be his last before rejoining the A’s rotation, and given the results, it appears all systems are go.

Gray worked six innings, allowed only two hits and struck out seven while not walking a batter. He threw 77 pitches, 54 strikes, and according to Sounds radio announcer Jeff Hem, Gray’s fastball consistently registered 94 mph. New Orleans got just one batter past first base against Gray, who is from Nashville and still lives there in the offseason.

“He looked really good,” said A’s manager Bob Melvin, who was able to watch Gray’s first two innings on TV.
