A’s slugger Khris Davis out again because of quad strain

MESA, Ariz. — The A’s didn’t have Khris Davis in the lineup for the second straight day — not that the offense missed him.

Ryon Healy hit his fifth homer of the spring as the A’s pounded the Chicago White Sox 8-2 on Friday at Hohokam Stadium.

Davis, who hit 42 homers last season, is out for a few days with what manager Bob Melvin called a minor right quadriceps strain.

“We don’t think it’s that big of a concern,” Melvin said, adding that he hopes the outfielder will be back in the lineup Sunday.

Shortstop Marcus Semien was removed after being hit by a pitch from Jake Petricka in the second inning.
