ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The A’s are sending outfielder Mark Canha back down to Nashville with the hopes that he can get is batting stroke back together and are promoting outfielder Jaycob Brugman to the big leagues for the first time.
Brugman was hitting .288 with a homer and eight RBI at the time of the move while Canha was at .191 with three homers and seven RBI in two stints with Oakland sandwiched around a previous stop in Nashville where he had five homers and 16 RBI in 19 games in April and May.
A strained left calf kept Brugman on the disabled list for Nashville to start the season.
