A’s season-high win streak comes to an end as Felix Hernandez sets record for wins at Coliseum

OAKLAND — This new young crop of A’s offensive talent has provided hope for the future all year long, but one thing remains the same: They still can’t solve the riddle that is Felix Hernandez.

The A’s continued to be baffled by the Seattle Mariners ace in a 7-1 loss on Monday. Hernandez set the all-time record for most wins by a visiting pitcher at the Coliseum with 13, surpassing Tommy John.

The former Cy Young winner did not have usual lights out stuff the A’s grew accustomed to seeing in the past as he only struck out two, but the six-time all-star kept the A’s bats quiet, allowing only two hits and a run through six innings of work.
