MINNEAPOLIS - Sean Manaea, who is on the 10-day disabled list with left shoulder tightness, did not throw his planned bullpen session Thursday.
Instead, Manaea threw long toss, and the team will play it by ear when it comes to scheduling a bullpen session. Manager Bob Melvin said Manaea had some soreness after throwing a flat-ground session Wednesday.
Asked if this means a longer stay on the DL for Manaea, Melvin said, “Could be.”
Manaea certainly will not come off the DL Sunday, when he is first eligible. Sonny Gray will make the start against Detroit, Melvin said.
