ANAHEIM - No. 3 starter Sean Manaea, who came out of Wednesday night’s game after just two innings because of shoulder tightness, will play catch Friday at Houston and the team will have a better idea of when the left-hander might pitch again.
Manaea got some treatment Thursday and said, “I feel better and hopefully I’ll feel even better (Friday).”
Manaea said he had gotten some strength tests on the shoulder and there were no indications of any trouble. “The strength is there, it’s just a little tight,” he said.
“Once he plays catch, we’ll have a better idea where we are going forward,” manager Bob Melvin said.
