Sean Doolittle’s latest shoulder injury might not cost him anywhere near the kind of time his previous two shoulder problems did.
Doolittle, out since April 30 with a shoulder strain, missed 59 games with a shoulder strain last year and most of the 2015 season with shoulder issues, but he began doing flat-ground work Saturday and will throw off the mound next week, he said. That could put his return to Oakland somewhere in the first half of June.
“It’s going really well,” he said. “Really well.”
Doolittle’s current injury is different from the others he has had; it is in the lower front of the shoulder and Doolittle compared it to an impingement.
