MESA, Ariz. - After facing hitters Wednesday for the first time this spring, A’s reliever Sean Doolittle said he anticipates appearing in a Cactus League game early next week.
Doolittle threw 20 pitches to hitters at Hohokam Stadium and he said, “At this point, I’m just trying to get the timing and rhythm but my body feels really good. Now it’s just getting that repetition, but I was happy with it.”
Doolittle will throw to hitters once more before pitching in a game, he said.
Famously an all-fastballs reliever, Doolittle is, like usual, working on his changeup and a breaking pitch (a slider) this spring.
