A’s Santiago Casilla, Sean Doolittle nearing game action

MESA, Ariz. - Two key members of Oakland’s bullpen are about to get their Cactus League seasons underway.

Former Giants closer Santiago Casilla will make his spring debut Sunday at Hohokam Stadium against the Cubs, and Sean Doolittle could pitch in a game sometime in the following several days.

Casilla threw a 25-pitch session of batting practice Friday and, he said Saturday day, “I feel good, I feel healthy.”

Casilla, whose arrival in camp was delayed nearly three weeks by visa issues after signing on Jan. 20., will be working in his first game with the A’s since 2009; he was in Oakland’s organization for nine years before signing with the Giants as a free agent before the 2010 season.
