DETROIT—Matt Olson is at it again.
After measuring the first pitch from Tigers starter Chad Bell, Olson crushed a 0-1 breaking ball way over the wall in right field.
That’s five games in a row Olson has homered. It’s the 23rd home run of the season for the A’s rookie in just 173 at-bats, and he’s raked 19 of those since Aug. 18.
The solo shot put the A’s on top of the Tigers 1-0 in the second inning.
Prior to Olson’s at-bat, Bell had been in a groove for the Tigers, striking out three of the A’s first four hitters of the game.
