MESA, Ariz. - Oakland’s hot offense faces an ace Sunday.

The A’s have scored 52 runs over the past four games (not including an exhibition against Team Italy), but they face Cubs right-hander Jake Arrieta, the 2015 NL Cy Young winner, on Sunday.

“It’s been great,” manager Bob Melvin said of the offense. “Now we’re going to get tested today, with Arrieta on the mound, and they’re bringing over their A-squad. When you’ve had as many good offensive games as we’ve had, it’s nice to see. ... When you get a guy like Arrieta and you know he’s probably going to be out there for four-five innings, you can try to take stock of where we are, but it’s been tremendous.
