A’s reliever will finally get his shot after a decade in the minors

SAN FRANCISCO — After a decade of patience, hard work and resilience, Jeremy Bleich’s long, long wait is finally over.

The A’s recalled Bleich from Triple-A Nashville on Friday, setting the stage for the left-hander’s Major League debut after a 10-year grind in the minor leagues. Bleich earned his big league promotion after the A’s sent right-handed pitcher Josh Lucas to Nashville and transferred right-hander Andrew Triggs to the 60-day disabled list.

The 31-year old left a strong impression on the A’s front office as non-roster invitee to spring training this year. He punched his ticket to the show by carrying the momentum of his spring into the regular season, producing a 1-1 record, a save and a 3.
